I’ve been waiting for this song for a long time. It’s been roughly four years since Explosions In The Sky released their last album. So eager was I, that I even had a quick check yesterday to see if there was any news on their new album ‘Take Care, Take Care, Take Care’ (released April 18th in UK, 26th in US). I completely missed them posting up the new single ‘Trembling Hands’ on SoundCloud. So now I present it to you in all its relentless glory. The instrumental band hail from Austin, and although not well known, have a huge cult following worldwide. If this track isn’t your kind of thing, please also listen to ‘Your Hand In Mine’. If you don’t like that, then go and listen to that Justin Bieber album that you love so much (I’m joking, burn it, twice).

Trembling Hands is as I said before, relentless. There are slight moments of rest, which reminds me of wartime conflict. Often a surge of attack followed by brief moments of rest and planning. I went on the hunt for some conflict images and came across this photograph by Alex Smailes. Admittedly, I haven’t been able to find out much about him, but he has at least one book ‘Trinidad and Tobago’, which looks well worth your time. The deterioration in the background, along with what appears to be trapped anger within the subject, is exactly what I was looking for in a conflict photograph.
